Abstract
Hegemony ability is one of the social phenomenon that is often found in literary works. It derives from Ancient Greek 'eugemonia' means to show the authority of leadership in a region led. The writer interested in discussing hegemony power because in Animal Farm novel by George Orwell tells the story of the Sometime Major as animal leader on Manor farm when it uses hegemony power to eliminate the suffering of animals on the farm from human oppression. But after the hegemony ability moved to Napoleon, Napoleon suppressed more humans confronting humans even though he was an animal on the farm. The aims of this enquiry are: (1) to elaborate how hegemony ability operates in the novel, (two) to know the negative effects of power hegemony for other animal's life in the Animate being Farm novel by George Orwell. On this research, the author applies the theory of hegemony by Antonio Gramsci as the g theory and the theory of ability past Max Weber every bit supporting theory to reply the problem of the research. This inquiry arroyo is a sociological approach. This research is qualitative research that focused on qualitative enquiry by Taylor. This Research uses documentation method by Atkinson to collect the information in this research. This research uses descriptive analysis techniques by Miles. In this research, the writer found a class of hegemony ability that operates creating an integral state region, namely that between civil gild and the political society of each region, they practice hegemony and get victims of hegemony. Civil club is character by the movement of hegemony power by Erstwhile Major and Snowball, while the political order is graphic symbol by Napoleon and Mr. Jones. The writer identifies three impact of the hegemony power on other animal life are: ane) the loss of personal correct, ii) work harder and decrease in food rations, 3) the killing of fellow Animal.
